Fritz Walter Gerdin is born the eigthth of nine kids to John Ersson Gerdin and Sigrid Silvartsdotter Gerdin. Walter marries Esther Elin Bergstrom on July 27, 1929 at the bride's home in Cambridge, MN. They have five kids together. His wife Esther dies in 1946. Walter Gerdin lives another 40 years, dying in 1986 at the age of 88.
